Implementing Scalable, Secure Analytics to Convert Web Data into Strategic Insights
A leading enterprise needed a comprehensive solution to track the user behavior data from his website for their analysis and utilization. The objective here was to turn raw user interaction data into actionable business intelligence that can be used for marketing decisions, user experience improvements, and increasing conversion rates. The client was also struggling with standardizing and processing large volumes of web analytics data, for which they required a solution, real-time analytics, that could be secured and scalable.
The client collected a huge influx of raw data regarding user activity from its proprietary web analytics service but found it extremely hard to bring it all in for processing and analysis.
Multiple data schemas viewed as headerless CSVs posed a challenge for standardization.
Scaling was required to treat incoming data sets as production loads since data volume was increasing.
An analytic solution ensuring very low latency was required to support quick business decision-making.
Concerns regarding the security of sensitive user data.
Inability to track the entire user journey across the website.
The primary focus of the project was to provision a scalable web analytics infrastructure that could manage any requests of processing different data schema types, secure data transfer, and real-time insight delivery. A solution enables linking in-the-web-site interaction with business outcomes to optimize decision-making by marketing and sales teams.
Quite peculiar to the client, who already used Microsoft products, Azure data stack, and Microsoft Fabric were leveraged to build high-performance analytics pipelines.
Azure Data Factory and Databricks were operated to stream and transform structured data.
Security measures were applied, while metadata-driven systems helped deal with multiple layouts of data.
Dimensional models and pre-calculated summary tables were created for easy reporting.
Microsoft Fabric was integrated to allow for real-time insights and dashboards were built for behavior analysis, segmentation, and conversion tracking.
